Hi, I'm Katie and I am a Biological sciences graduate from Lancashire. Science, and particularly Biology, has been my passion since I can remember. I developed a deep fascination and desire to understand living organisms and their environments throughout school and sixth form, prompting me to enrol as a Biological sciences student at the University of Manchester. It was during my first year as a university student in 2015 that I began tutoring A-level biology students in the local area as a part-time job. I thrived off sharing my learning and revision techniques to Biology students to help them understand the vast content, and perform better in exams. Following the success of my A-level sessions, I soon broadened my student clientele to include GCSE science students. I found this to be mutually beneficial, as the content preparation I carried out for GCSE sessions encouraged me to research all three areas of science, and I often found myself delving into various chemistry and physics theories. From then, I felt I had found a job that I was truly passionate about; a role that allowed me to continue my exploration of science whilst being able to help younger students develop their own passion and understanding of science. I have since tutored consistently whilst working in a food safety role and studying various further education courses including radiology and science media. I am available to tutor A-Level Biology, GCSE science (triple and double awards) and KS3 science. I am passionate, focused, reliable and work my absolute hardest to ensure my students reach and go beyond the academic level they are striving for, whilst developing a genuine interest for science.

Hi, I’m Brooke and I tutor mainly English Literature and Language. My education includes a Bachelor's 1st in Law and A-Levels in English Literature, English Language, Law and Sociology.
As a recent graduate, I fully understand the stress of exams and the intense pressures students face to succeed, having sat them so recently myself. A lot of my lessons are interwoven with exam tips and techniques in anecdote form, that I have personally tried and found to be of aid throughout my GCSEs, A-Levels and university exams. Most of all, I find that the best technique for facing exams, in addition to preparation, is feeling more than adequately prepared. Therefore, in addition to studying the content of the curriculum, the central focus of all my sessions is to build students' confidence and a belief in themselves. Encouragement and enthusiasm are the two pillars of every session I teach; I aim to show students that by working hard they can succeed in any endeavour they wish to pursue.
My sessions are completely tailored to the curriculum and what the student wants to learn, whether that is something they are struggling with, something they are interested in or something they will be learning in class and want to get a head start on. All sessions are adapted to the student’s skill level and are designed to be build confidence while also being challenging.

Hello, my name is Lynsey and I have worked for more than 20 years in primary education as a teacher, mentor, early years lead and Assistant Principal. I have had the pleasure over the years to work with so many wonderful children and families, supporting them from when they first start school and throughout their journey. I love teaching and always look at the strengths of the individual and I am amazed every day at what children can achieve when they have the right support and feel valued.
Within sessions, I give careful feedback highlighting what is going well and what steps are needed to move forward. This is so important to build confidence, establish trust and see progress.
My expertise is within early years and KS1, however I do have experience of working with children in KS2. I enjoy teaching phonics, reading, writing and maths, but I admit I would be happy teaching PE all day if I could!
My approach to teaching is practical and creative and led by the individual needs of the child. As a teacher I am calm, patient and explain things in a simple way, encouraging children to express their thoughts and ask questions.
I have lots of experience working with children with special educational needs and those who find learning more challenging. I can adapt my teaching to the needs of the child and teach in a way that helps children build confidence and resilience.
I believe that parents are the experts on their child and that by working in partnership we can ensure your child makes the best progress for them.

I am an enthusiastic and nurturing teacher who thrives on inspiring and supporting individuals to flourish.
Since September 2020, I have worked both online and in person as a tutor: delivering private 1:1 tuition; I work with KS2 and KS3 students across the globe to develop and refine their mathematics and literacy skills, and prepare them for 11+ and 12+ school entrance examinations.
Alongside this, I consult for schools and the local authority, helping children achieve end of Key Stage expectations and assisting transition back into school for children who have been absent from
education.
Joining the teaching profession was the start of my journey in making a positive impact on the lives of others. Since graduating from the University of Leicester, I have been working in primary schools in
and around North East Lincolnshire as a classroom teacher and as a school leader. Although based in primary schools, I have worked with secondary schools to assist the smooth transition between Year 6
and Year 7.
